Experience
Jane Kang is a partner at Innovium Law Group. She brings over a decade of experience in government service and private practice to bear in advising entrepreneurs, companies and funds on a wide variety of corporate matters. She also counsels clients on strategies for obtaining financing from alternative sources (e.g., government grants and loan guarantees and foreign investors and funds).
Jane was previously a corporate attorney in the Tokyo and Silicon Valley offices of Latham & Watkins and in the Seattle office of Heller Ehrman/Venture Law Group. She has worked with numerous private equity and venture capital funds and early stage and public company clients in the energy, technology, life sciences, retail, services and manufacturing sectors and has extensive experience negotiating domestic and cross-border merger, acquisition, asset sale, joint venture, strategic alliance, distribution, manufacturing, licensing, consulting and other contracts.
During law school, Jane served as a legal fellow in the Capitol Hill office of U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell, where she worked on Energy and Natural Resources, Commerce and Judiciary Committee issues, including national energy policy, privacy, anti-spam and spyware legislation and judicial nominations. She also externed in the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington, where she worked on both civil and criminal litigation matters.
In addition to her legal experience, Jane has served as a career diplomat with the U.S. Department of State. Her overseas assignments included tours in Taipei, where she served as a consular officer, and Tokyo, where she served as the Special Assistant to the U.S. Ambassador to Japan. She has also worked on security, non-proliferation and export controls matters in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.
